Riverside
Illinois (IL), 60546

Riverside is arguably one of the first planned communities in the United States, designed in 1869 by Frederick Law Olmsted. The village was incorporated in 1875 and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1970.

Today, Riverside benefits from a professional government, whereby, the Village President and Board of Trustees are chosen by residents to pass laws, ordinances, and resolutions that govern conduct in the community, establish the annual budget, and appoint a Village Manager to direct and oversee the administrative functions of the municipal government. It is by the responsible service of past and current elected and appointed officials that Riverside can mark its 130th Anniversary of incorporation with pride and can look forward to 130 more years of community excellence.
